The first day of racing in Sandhamn Race Week consisted of a 6 hour coastal race. The wind was varying between 10-14 knots S-SW and the racing was led by IRO Benjamin Storm from Kieler Yacht Club / Black Flag Racing.

It was a great day for racing with stable wind and the sun shining from a clear sky. The start was tight in the Farr 30 class and so was the racing. FarrBar2 (Martin Strandberg) turned out to have exceptional boatspeed while the others struggled a bit in building waves. Even so, the distance between the first and the last boat was only about 15 minutes after 5 1/2 hours of racing. FarrBar 2 won with a comfortable 4 minutes to Avantime 3. It was a tough day for SWE 622 Cheyenne, sailing well on the course, but caught OCS in the start resulting in a penalty and therefore finished last in this first day.

Sandhamn Race Week continues with 7 W/L races on Sunday and Monday.

1 SWE 381 FarrBar 2 Martin Strandberg 1
2 SWE 1007 Avantime 3 Magnus Woxén 2
3 SWE 10070 Orca Patrick Lindblom 3
4 SWE 3062 Civitanova Team Civitanova 4
5 SWE 1 Sissabella Peter Melander 5
6 SWE 622 Cheyenne Anders Helmrich 6 (OCS)
